This fall I met a bunch of kind and interesting people. We talked a lot about trust and noticed that we all approach it differently. I believe the approach varies from moment to moment depending on our role. First and foremost, it was trust that brought us together. Each one of us traveled to France by ourselves. Trusting that we would meet kind and interesting new people.
I knew in my heart that I can trust our group of 8 when we first met. It was easy to place confidence in them. We all opened up and deep talk unfolded.
There are moments in my life where I have enough evidence to trust my heart’s feelings. My favorite example is wherever I see the symbol of the World Scout Movement I know I can put trust forward. The ones carrying the symbols are good people.
What about situations where we are not experienced? How can I be assured that I can rely on the character, the ability, the strength, or the truth of someone or something?
See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
Matthew 6:26, World English Bible
One of my new friends reminded me that we have received the promise already. We can trust in God. We can move forward and walk on paths that are new to us. We are able to arrive at our goals. At all our goals! We can trust God to let us go and arrive and that we will always be accompanied no matter what.
No need to wait for experiences.
Move towards your goals.
Just trust!
