The easiest way to overcome your own obstacles is to study them thoroughly. What does that mean? It means finding out what's in your way, and then figuring out how to use, work around, overcome, bridge, incorporate, or rebuild that obstacle. In the best case, the obstacle is transformed and becomes part of the path to the big goal. Sometimes it helps to pretend the obstacle does not exist. In other cases, the support of your fellow doers can help you move past an obstacle.
Together you become enablers. I think the term "enablers" is wonderful. These people are moving forward, experiencing a lot, enjoying life and achieving their goals. They make it possible, for themselves and for others. Are you an enabler or would you like to become one?
Enablers enjoy getting things done
Enablers understand that the second easiest way is to plan backwards from the goal. What steps are necessary to get from the goal to the current personal position? What do these steps involve? What are the resulting tasks that can be assigned to each step? What deadlines must be met to be successful?
Be realistic about time.
Don't try to accomplish too much in too little time. Allow enough time for each task.
Schedule breaks
Try to take regular breaks, even if it's just a few minutes. Breaks will help you relax and stay focused.
Be flexible
Sometimes appointments need to be postponed or canceled. Be prepared to adjust your plans if necessary.
Tips for getting things done
Here are some tips for naming appointments and tasks so you can easily put them on your calendar and enjoy getting them done:
Use meaningful names
The names of your appointments and tasks should be descriptive enough to let you know what they are immediately. Avoid jargon and abbreviations that you don't immediately understand.
Be specific
Don't just state the appointment or task, state the context. For example: "Discuss the new project with the client" or "Write a report on the progress of the project".
Use priorities
Prioritize your appointments and tasks so you know which ones are most important. This will help you manage your time effectively.
Use colors
Colors can help you visually organize your appointments and tasks. For example, red appointments are important, blue appointments are planned, and green appointments are done.
Use statuses
Give your appointments and tasks a status so you know what stage they are in. This helps you keep track of them.
Use notes
If you have additional information about an appointment or task, you can add it to notes. This can help you remember what needs to be done.
By following these tips, you can clearly name your appointments and tasks. This will help you write them down well on your calendar and enjoy doing them.
A key to overcoming obstacles as an enabler is to enjoy getting things done. I wish you that joy. Overcome your obstacles! Good luck with it!
