When I am given confidence, I feel strengthened. When I want to strengthen others, I express my confidence.
Karl Goldstein
It makes me very happy when I am receiving more confidence. In a happy state, it is much easier for me to be courageous. And it is this courage that brings great ideas to light. The ideas then really mature in me. That does me a lot of good. I have a great desire to make the ideas come true! Even if I do not know how it will happen. But often I can sense and anticipate how great it will be. I am really looking forward to our new project!
I am happy to tell you about my group of friends in SG Middle East. We are 6 friends who love scouting. We are also excited about the idea of meeting scouts in the Middle East. We are enthusiastic about the people, the culture, the weather, the food, and even the heat and dust. We see opportunities to foster peace together with the Scouts in the Middle East. It's very simple. People who have a common hobby, who are interested in each other, can easily meet and start a beautiful friendship.
12 years ago, when our working group started, everything was slow and we were running behind ideas. Today it is different. We recently met in Duisburg and had the wonderful idea to start a period of time filled with a lot of action in Israel.
We want to invite a German-speaking scout group to meet with an Arabic-speaking and a Hebrew-speaking scout group in Israel. All three groups will meet and spend 5-10 days together. They can experience a form of international, inter-cultural and perhaps inter-religious scouting all together.
While last time our encounters attracted mainly scouts with an academic background, this time we want to expand the scope.
We will talk with our Israeli friends and explore ways to offer sports, crafts, music, cooking, games, and other great options.
We want to inspire as many groups as possible from 16-17 years old onwards to come to Israel and experience life in the greater Tel Aviv area, Jerusalem, Haifa and Galilee.
It will be a special experience for all involved!
One thing we can promise: Whoever participates in this encounter will learn many new things. New things about themselves, about new friends, about food, culture and music, about Scouting traditions, and also about peace.
We trust you Scouts, who have Arabic-, German- and Hebrew-speaking groups, to communicate in English and also with "hands, heart and feet". We firmly believe that your courage to meet each other can give you all a joyful experience. Just choose which season spring, summer or fall suits you best.
We are getting ready for these events!
Will you join us?
