Do you remember a day at the beach? You took your picnic basket and cooler, your umbrella to protect you from too much sun. You were prepared to spend the whole day at the beach. You plunged into the sea, swimming and splashing around.
When you were tired from swimming, you lay down on the sand. You relaxed.
Later, you walked on the beach, collecting scallops, empty snail shells, and cockleshells.
You walked until the tide receded. It left shallow tideways. You got into one of the tide pools and slowly sank your feet into the wet sand. You wiggled your toes a bit which led to sinking even deeper into the sand. After waiting for a while your ankles were covered with sand.
At first, sinking in gives you a nice feeling. The wet beach gives you support. It gives you stability. You sank in a little further.
Remember what it feels like to be stuck?
It is an awkward feeling.
Sitting down didn't work because you sank in even deeper until the beginning of your shins. You wiggled around. You stomped in the sand. This movement helped you to pull one leg out. With the other foot, you sank in even further.
You were off-balance!
You were pulling hard. It felt as if the wet sand had a firm grip on you. Then the beach let go of you: you managed to pull out the second foot.
You came free!
You felt funny then and you feel funny now. How did you get yourself into that weird situation?
Getting into weird situations can happen to us at any time anywhere!
Every once in a while we get into situations we didn't plan for nor expect.
Becoming free leads you away from being stuck. Even though it may feel really wrong or weird at first.
Getting unstuck means choosing happiness.
Let's become happier!
