81 | Hold onto the memories of the future

Do you tend to hold on to memories of the past or do you live fully in the present? According to Bob Procter, the trick is to hold onto memories of the future. In this way, we can help our minds pull us in the direction of who we want to become.

  1. Visualize your future. Imagine it in great detail. Ask yourself questions that allow you to expand your mind.
  2. Put what you see on paper (vision board, mind map, or journaling). Post it where you can see it.
  3. Start your day by recalling your memories of your future (meditation).
  4. Come up with 3 action steps you can take next to get closer to your new you.
  5. Do at least 1 of the 3 today.

Here are some questions you can use for your personal reflection:

  • What do I want to do with my life?
  • Who do I want to spend time with?
  • What is important to me (job, family, friends, neighborhood, creating energy, being generous, volunteering, etc.)?
  • What do I have to offer? What are my strengths?
  • What are my non-negotiables?
  • What do I want to create?
  • What kind of culture do I want to be a part of?
  • What kind of growth opportunities do I want?
  • Who do I want to serve?
  • Who will be amazed by what I have to offer?

“Thoughts become things. If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.”
