135 | Shift Your Focus, Take the Lead

When everything seems to be going wrong

Things are breaking around my house. Not many, but my favorite things—my car, my drill, my microwave. Even my cats' scratching post gave up. My washing machine works only when it feels like it. It’s all wear and tear, I guess. A normal process.

And my thoughts? They are loud, overwhelming, and relentless. The same questions keep circling:

"What next?"

"How will I pay for all of it?"

"Why now?"

Mind chatter: worries attract worries

Worry feeds worry, and soon, my headaches become more frequent. Fatigue settles in, and frustration grows. The dominant perception? Everything is going wrong.

But, is that the full story?

Shift your focus – see the good

When I shift my focus, I see more. I remember the thrill of driving a full-electric Peugeot 208, enjoying its massage function and sleek features. I discovered how quickly the battery drains when speeding down the highway, and that’s part of the learning experience. I managed to wake up earlier than usual, fitting in a swim or a workout before work. I ate well. I had great conversations with colleagues and customers.

Solutions instead of stagnation

I also got informed—learning about car leasing, financing, and possible repairs. There's nothing I can do right now about my car, so I choose to trust and wait.

And what about commuting? What about fitting fitness into my schedule with longer travel times?

View new challenges as opportunities

Instead of seeing it as an inconvenience, I reframed it as an adventure. I’ll take the bus. Maybe I’ll cycle—30 km one way, in the chilly air. It’s a challenge, and I’m excited to take it on.

What if I fail?

Well, what if I don’t try at all? What if it turns out to be fun?

Jump into the unknown – and grow

Failure is part of life, and so is winning. The only way to find out is to jump into the unknown.

Just jump!

Keep your hopes high, take action, and lead your own journey. The moment we shift our mindset, new ideas flow. With action, momentum builds.

Gratitude makes all the difference

And through it all, gratitude multiplies the good. I am thankful—for the lessons, for the growth, for you.

May you have a wonderful day, dear friend. Keep moving forward!
