When you knock on the door of opportunity, do not be surprised that it is work who will answer.<\/p>\nBrendon Burchard<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Outdoor Shower<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Even though it is summer and vacation time, I am really busy. Earlier this summer I started swimming before work. It is a lot of fun. As a direct result, I set up an outdoor shower in the garden. Showering outside relaxes my mind and energizes my body. Oh yes, it is a cold shower. If you had asked me in May if I would take cold showers for health reasons, I would have laughed out loud. I couldn't wrap my head around it. However, I have come to realize that it is fantastic. I love the cold water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rejuvenating<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In June I finished the High Performance Coaching program. 6 months, 60 minutes of coaching once a week. Brendon's coaches are generous and energetic people. While one of them was my personal coach for three months, I got to know others during the group coaching months. These people are alive for 60 full minutes. They represent what coaching is to me: open, interested, inspiring, generous and energetic people. Good listeners, straightforward, calm and on fire. I felt rapport. 60 minutes with them felt like a day at the spa. Rejuvenating. The coaching ended and I turned up the volume!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aha!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One insight I had during that coaching was that when we do great work, we need to tell the people around us what we are up to. We shall not hide what we are up to. We will find the right people to join us if we search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can think in circles: Family, friends, friends of friends, colleagues, colleagues of colleagues, social media groups, etc. We can reach out with our ideas. We can ask if it is a good fit for our direct contacts and if they can share the information with their circles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We move forward and add value to our society and the people of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Power of We<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While politics is moving to the right, it is important to promote peace. From my point of view, many activities that focus on well-being through innovation are welcome. When individuals improve their education, their well-being, their health, their income, their families, their relationships, their way of life, their friendships, we all benefit. We can improve the environment, the air we breathe, the water we all need. When we care for the community, envy will diminish. We can give more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to give more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is what I plan to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Live healthy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Work with passion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Create coaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Offer international adventures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Foster friendships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Be a friend.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Be authentic.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    I fill these 7 thoughts with life. These thoughts have come to life. First through feelings of joy, hope, courage, love, and optimism. Then through choice and intentional action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Messy Middle<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    I often get caught in the messy middle. Things happen and I get distracted. Then time flies. Suddenly it is the middle of August. The middle of August!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When I look at my accomplishments and projects without depth, I might think that I am stuck in the mud and have not accomplished much. Too many projects seem unfinished. Too many goals seem out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Reflect<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    But this is not true. This shows how important it is to book your own coach. Have someone with whom you can reflect on your activities and actions. Talk about your feelings and remember that they are caused by your thoughts. Think good thoughts! Let go of the bad ones that frighten you. Let them pass. Be a spectator when negativity comes around and do not get involved in the conversation. Visualize what greatness you have done so far. Get creative with the good that comes your way. Enjoy what you are doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You are working on important projects. Keep your spirits up and aim for the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Share your story<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    My next projects are living a healthy and joyful life, being a reliable colleague at work, camping at the beach with adult scout leaders, Israeli-German exchange of board members in Israel and Germany, Israeli-German youth and young adult meetings in Israel, Jordanian-German youth meetings in Germany, Mt. Pinacle Adventure in Canada, creating an online course on breaking through personal barriers, finding interesting people I am looking for, and letting anyone who is open to know that there are great opportunities out there for all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Which brings me back to the beginning of today's post: When you knock on the door of opportunity, do not be surprised if it is work that answers. Again, Brendon is right. I knocked on the door and I am very busy now. It feels chaotic at times. Sometimes the feeling of being overwhelmed comes up. I breathe and think of something else. The work is there for sure. The more work and energy I put in, the more energy I get back. That in itself is amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There are wonderful experiences and projects waiting for all of us. Get busy and breathe. Keep your wheels turning. Your rewards await.<\/p>\n
