International Workshop: Peace Talks between Israel and Palestine | in Germany<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

May 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Workshop at the German Catholic Convention. Participants were a Jewish woman from Israel, a Melkite priest from Israel, a Catholic from Palestine as well as Catholics and Protestants from Germany. We engaged actively in peace talks. Sorting out common grounds, coming up with a statement on what peace includes for us all. We then took a good look at today’s situations of all of our lives and acknowledged the gap between today’s life and life in peace. Further, we talked about ideas and activities that will bring us closer to life in peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Leadership Encounter between Germany and Jordan | in Jordan<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

October 2016\u2013November 2016<\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 German leaders aged between 24 and 50 years traveled to Jordan. First interaction with scouts leaders from Amman. Second interaction with scout leaders from Housn near Irbid. The duration of the leadership program was 14 days. Contents of the program: Getting to know each other, international group dynamics, overcoming prejudices, gaining personal clarity about own culture and heritage and developing reliable friendships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Leadership Program between Palestine, Israel and Germany | in Israel and Palestine<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

October 2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The international encounter between 30 German scout leaders aged between 23 and 50 years traveled to Israel and Palestine and met with their counterparts in Tel Aviv, Nazareth, Haifa, Kafr Kaana, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Beit Sahour and Beit Jalla. Motto: Connected by Friendship – Enroute to Friends“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership program: Getting to know each other, experiencing life in the Holy Land, reducing prejudices, developing friendship, and building bridges of peace.
Duration: 14 days<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Encounter between Germany and Israel | in Israel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

October 2011<\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 Scout leaders from the city of Aachen in Germany met with 30 scout leaders from the city of Haifa in Israel. The main focus was to interact with each other, to get to know each other, especially their way of life, their way of thinking and their style of leadership. Group dynamics were enhanced through group activities, such as new games (from the 1970s), cooperation activities, intercultural communication activities, singing, hiking, cooking, celebrating and eating together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration of the leadership program: 14 days<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israeli Participation at the Scout Week in Taiz\u00e9 2011 | in France<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

July 2011<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I led the Israeli delegation at the Scout Week in Taiz\u00e9. That was an exciting week because most of the leaders who joined us from Israel were in France for the first time. They did not know the culture, the food, the temperatures at night nor the intensity of interaction at the venue itself. While at first they felt lost, they met another group of leaders there as well. It was a Palestinian group. First resentments were set aside. They decided to buy „proper“ food and spend their time together. Later there were open aggravations between men of both groups, but the women of each group decided that it was more important to talk with each other and silenced them. They were given the choice to listen or leave. The men decided to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
